Details Of Marvel’s Secret Empire #0 Revealed

On Monday Marvel gave the lowdown on what fans can expect when Secret Empire #0 arrives in comic book stores this April.

Last week Marvel finally drew back the curtain on Secret Empire, their latest super-mega crossover. The Captain America-centric event will see the whole “Hail Hydra” storyline played out as Cap puts his nefarious plans in motion for world domination.

But before the nine issue miniseries kicks off in May, there has to be a zero issue. Because, well this is Marvel and it isn’t a super-mega crossover event without a zero issue.

Secret Empire #0 arrives in April and will be written by Nick Spencer, the architect of the whole Secret Empire super-mega crossover event. He will be joined by artist Daniel Acuna and the whole shebang will be wrapped by a Mark Brooks cover and more variants than you can shake a fist at.

Serving as a prologue of sorts, it will lay out Captain America’s whole plot and will hopefully get newcomers up to speed on the details of the event. As of late Marvel has done a horrible job introducing folks who may not read a lot of Marvel titles to the plot of their super-mega crossover events. Sales have suffered as a result.

Don’t believe me? Do you know anyone reading Monsters Unleashed? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

But we can all hope Marvel has learned their lesson. I hope they will use this zero issue as an introductory prologue and not a glorified first issue.
