Kevin Conroy has announced that he will be returning for the new Injustice 2 video game. He doesn’t say as who, but come on…

More from Video Games

To the public at large, the list of actors who has played the role of Batman is a long one. Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Ben Affleck and Christian Bale among others are all names a more casual comic book fan may remember.

But for us hardcore fans of The Dark Knight, if you ask who has portrayed the ultimate version of the Batman over the years, the only name that will be mentioned is Kevin Conroy.

I’m sure some of you may be thinking “Who the hell is Kevin Conroy?”

For the uninformed among you, Conroy has provided the voice of Batman for over 20 years in various animated and video game projects. He began playing Bruce Wayne in the classic Batman: The Animated Series and has since become the definitive version of how the character should sound.

Conroy has played Batman in a slew of animated series and videos, including the recent Killing Joke, as well as all the Arkham games (except Arkham Origins) and the original Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Now Conroy has announced via his Twitter feed that he is returning for Injustice 2.

Of course, Conroy doesn’t specify which character he will be providing the voice for, but really, who else is he going to play? Batgirl? Wonder Woman?

Honestly, the thought of an animated movie or video game without Conroy just feels like sacrilege. For fans like myself, he is the Batman, plain and simple and no one else even comes close.

Thus far all indications are that Injustice 2 is going to be just as good if not better than the first game. All the images and footage seen so far have been pretty amazing and adding the talents of Conroy does nothing but get me more excited to play the game. Throw in the deep roster and improved gameplay, and Injustice 2 should be a blast.

Injustice 2 (now with more Kevin Conroy) will be released for Playstation 4 and Xbox One on May 16, 2017.
