ECCC 2017: Ghost In The Shell Anthology, Guidebook Coming
By D. Goodman
Announced at Emerald City Comic Con, Kodansha will be publishing both a Ghost in the Shell anthology as well as a guidebook.
If you are a fan of Ghost in the Shell by Shirow Masamune, then the next few years are going to be a lot of fun.
First you had the first ever hardcover version of the original manga published last month by Kodansha. Considered the definitive edition of the work by Shirow, it was joined on store shelves by the two sequels, both also in hardcover.
Then at the end of March you have the highly anticipated live-action adaption of Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson. The trailers have been getting resoundingly positive buzz and no matter how you feel about the casting of Johansson as The Major, the film looks like a winner.
Now at Emerald City Comic Con Kodansha has made a couple more big announcements sure to get any fan excited.

As is being reported by Bleeding Cool, Kodansha will be publishing a Ghost in the Shell anthology that will hit stores in Spring 2018. The book will be titled Ghost in the Shell: Global Neural Network and will feature work by a number of noted western comic creators.
Global Neural Network will be very similar to the Attack on Titan anthology that was published last year. The hardcover book will be in full color and will tell stories of the Ghost in the Shell universe with a Western flair. The entire project will be supervised by Shirow himself and more information should be released over the course of the year.
In addition to that, Kodansha also announced a definitive guide to the world of Ghost in the Shell. Titled Ghost in the Shell README: 1995-2017, the book put all the anime adaption of the manga under the microscope like never before.
Ghost in the Shell README: 1995-2017 will cover everything from the original animated film up to and including the live-action film. It will include interviews, lots and lots of full-color artwork and behind the scenes secrets.
