Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the famous X-Man has Logan setting box office records.

Awesome superhero … Check. High drama … Check. Compelling characters … Check. Excellent story … Check. High octane, ultra-violent action … Big check! When the final silver screen outing of an actor’s iconic portrayal of a beloved superhero hits every mark, you’re definitely guaranteed a box office win—and that’s exactly what happened with Logan.

Box Office Mojo is estimating Logan to have a weekend domestic and foreign haul of $83,300,000 and $152,500,000, respectively—totaling $237,800,000 worldwide. These figures are also taking into account the day-before-general-release showings on Thursday night, which have a total of $9,700,000.

To make these numbers even more impressive, Logan is R-rated—which means ticket sales are limited to a certain demographic. As an R-rated film, Logan currently holds the record for the biggest March debut of a film with that rating. Overall, it’s the fourth biggest March debut for any film and the biggest opening of an R-rated film not debuting on a long weekend (Deadpool is the biggest R-rated film to open, but it debuted over President’s Day Weekend 2016).

Logan marks the last time Hugh Jackman will be portraying the Admantium-clawed X-Man. Jackman made his debut as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men—the film that started the franchise. After almost two decades, the actor has joined the ranks of other thespians who are synonymous with their on-screen personas.

Jackman, throughout the years, was known for his dedication to the role. There are numerous articles written about his grueling workout regimen and equally restrictive diet. Both of which contributed to his amazing physique and bringing the superhero to life on the silver screen.

In recent news, Patrick Stewart—who portrayed the fatherly mutant Professor Charles Xavier for almost two decades—announced that he too would be stepping down from the role. The two actors thought the latest installment was the perfect time to bid their farewells to countless adoring fans.

The mantle of Professor X will now be carried on by James McAvoy, who made his debut in the role in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. Currently, it’s unknown who will be filling Jackman’s very big shoes for the role of Wolverine. However, there are some fan-favorites, such as Tom Hardy.
