Funko DC Legion Of Collectors – March 2017 “Superman” Unboxing
By Steve Lam
Final Round-Up
The Legion of Collectors’ “Superman” box is everything I could’ve hoped for. Look, I know that a lot of people might be complaining that Funko should’ve included something from Superman’s rogues gallery—Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, etc. I for one am very happy that it was all Superman. The box reads “Superman” on it so I expected to be inundated with Man of Steel merchandise. And Funko did not disappoint on that front.
What I enjoyed most about this box is that Superman is shown as a bright character. All the Superman items had him posing as a stoic being—a beacon of hope. Funko could’ve easily had a few images of Superman with angry heat-vision-ready eyes. However, they opted to keep him looking like the Superman I remembered from my childhood.
Those who grew up with the Donner/Reeve Superman films know what I mean. This box was definitely worth it. Not convinced yet? Due to the items being exclusive and unique to this offering, we’re going to do a theoretical breakdown in price using comparable items found on Amazon and Ebay:
- Superman Patch: $4.00–$7.00
- Superman Pin: $4.00–$5.00
- Superman #1 Variant Edition Comic Book: $2.99
- Superman T-Shirt: $10.00–$20.00
- Superman Keychain: $3.99–$5.99
- Superman Action Figure: $18.00–$24.00
- “Classic Superman” Exclusive Pop!: $24.00–$50.00
Using the lower-end of the pricing, all items add up to be $66.98. The “Classic Superman” Pop! figure is already a collector’s item!

I couldn’t be happier with this month’s Legion of Collectors box from Funko. It was everything a hardcore Superman fan could ask for. I’m very much looking forward to the “Wonder Woman” box arriving in May 2017.
