Patrick Stewart Open To Returning To X-Men Universe
By Steve Lam
Patrick Stewart is definitely open to returning to the X-Men film universe.
By now, most comic book fans will have seen Logan—the heart-wrenching X-Men universe film that marks the “final” appearances of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier.

However, I put “final” in quotes because Stewart doesn’t seem to be done with the role. In most cases, people become upset when promises aren’t kept. In this case, we’re very happy that the British thespian may have fibbed a bit when he said this film would be his last outing as the benevolent powerful mutant leader.
In an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Stewart made a surprising statement to the delight of fans. To compound the great news and possibilities, Dan Stevens—who plays mutant David Haller in the cable television hit Legion—was also a guest, chiming in on his ideas. Check out the full segment, but the important part starts at 2:46 with Stewart giving a firm “however.”
Aside from a future Deadpool film appearance which has been speculated for months, the new Legion theory really got fans cheering. And I think if that happened, it would be very significant—it would tie everything together.
Dan Stevens’s idea is definitely something fans have had in mind for a while now. Our resident Legion recap expert Christina and I have had many offline discussions on how awesome it would be to have Patrick Stewart’s Professor X appear.
