This week on The Flash, Barry enters the Speed Force to find answers.

Last week on The Flash‘s “The Wrath of Savitar” episode, Wally started to have visions of the God of Speed. And as Barry tried to control Iris’s fate, things started to unravel, taking the team further from their goals.

Wally was well on his way to becoming fast enough to save Iris. However, a quick setback developed. Kid Flash was now having hallucinations that Savitar was attacking him. He tries to hide it from Barry and the team, but it soon falls apart—causing Barry to not trust his new protege.

The team soon uses Julian as a conduit to communicate with Savitar. We soon learn that there’s still a piece of the Philosopher’s Stone not in the Speed Force. Caitlin is the one who has it. She was planning to run experiments on it, hoping to rid herself of her Killer Frost powers.

Meanwhile, Iris has accepted Barry’s marriage proposal. Joe was a little disappointed—thinking that Barry would ask his permission first. When Wally has Cisco vibe him to the future to really see how Iris dies, he discovers that his sister wasn’t wearing an engagement ring.

Wally confronts Barry, and the team learns that the marriage proposal was to circumvent the future. Iris has very mixed feelings and eventually, sadly, breaks off her engagement.

Things get even worse when Savitar tricks Wally into taking the Philosopher’s Stone and having him toss it into the Speed Force, allowing the God of Speed to escape. The episode ends badly with Wally pulled into the Speed Force and Barry stabbed in the shoulder by Savitar.

This week, Barry ventures into the Speed Force to find answers and save Wally. Here’s the official synopsis from The CW:

“Into the Speed Force”

"BARRY TURNS TO THE SPEED FORCE – Desperate to stop Savitar and save his friends, Barry (Grant Gustin) turns to the speed force for answers. H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) gives Jesse (guest star Violett Beane) some advice."
