DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2, Episode 16 Synopsis: “Doomworld”

This week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the Legion of Doom succeeds in rewriting reality, and it’s up to Mick to save the world.

Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s “Fellowship of the Ring” episode, the team sought out JRR Tolkien’s help in finding a vile of Christ’s blood. Meanwhile, both Mick and Amaya were tempted to use the Spear of Destiny.

The Legends found themselves traveling to World War I France. It turns out the only thing that can destroy the Spear of Destiny is what made it in the first place—the blood of Christ. With no idea how to find a vile of the holy blood that Sir Gawain brought back from the Crusades, the Legends enlist the help of future Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien.

The team soon experiences some internal conflict when Mick has visions of Snart—but they weren’t visions at all. The Legion traveled back in time before Snart joined the Legends. This younger Snart, who was still into his criminal ways, tried to tempt Mick back to his old life.

It isn’t long before, Mick tries to recruit Amaya to be on his side. With her seeing Gideon’s historical record, you would think she’d be a prime candidate to want to also steal the Spear and rewrite her own reality.

However, goodness and the strive to do what’s right prevailed in Amaya. She went along with the team and agreed to help destroy the Spear. When the team finally finds the vile of blood in the middle of no man’s land at the Battle of the Somme, the Legion shows up—taking the Spear for themselves.

The biggest tragedy coming out of this was Mick betraying his own team. After all, Snart has always been his best friend. It’s hard to say no to your buddy who has come back from the dead.

The final scenes show Malcolm Merlyn activating the Spear by reading an incantation from an ancient book. This week, for Season 2’s penultimate episode, we’ll be seeing the results of the Legion’s activating the Spear. Here’s the official synopsis from The CW:

"BETRAYALS — After obtaining the Spear of Destiny, the Legion of Doom rewrites reality, leaving the Legends changed, perhaps forever. Frightfully, the Legends’ and the world’s hopes rest with Rory (Dominic Purcell), but being the “hero” is not easy for him.  Meanwhile, there is tension within the Legion of Doom and the reason why the Spear of Destiny needs to be destroyed is revealed."
