Lindsey Morgan is speculated to be the frontrunner to play Batgirl, in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film.

The DC Extended Universe is well under away now, as we are introduced to a plethora of characters already. Through three movies, we have already seen the introductions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Joker, and the Suicide Squad.

With more characters to be introduced (and not from an email attachment) in the upcoming Justice League film, it is safe to say that Warner Bros. is certainly not wasting its time plowing through bringing these iconic characters to the big screen.

More from Movies

This is only more evident, as it was recently reported that a Batgirl film is in the works with Avengers Director Joss Whedon taking the reins for the project. With the movie underway, fans immediately began to speculate who would play the role of the female crusader.

Many names, like Emma Stone and Anna Kendric, were thrown out as fans were expectedly salivating at the prospect of seeing Batgirl, who we haven’t seen on the big screen since the 1997 Batman & Robin movie. We try not to think about it.

With all that being said, it appears we may have gotten our first rumored frontrunner for the role thanks to some cryptic tweets. W’s The 100 star Lindsey Morgan has caused some speculations, based on her recent tweets. Whilst the evidence may be suspect, it is still worth mentioning.

It all began with the actress tweeting earlier in March of her auditioning for a project, followed by her ecstatic reaction to an upcoming project in the works.
