It looks like Kurt is also coming back for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

More from Movies

Right now, we don’t know too much about Ant-Man and the Wasp except that we’ll finally see Hope Van Dyne suit up as the Wasp. However, we do know that Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be joined by Michael Douglas and Michael Pena, and now we have confirmation of another returning cast member.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the red carpet premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, David Dastmalchian revealed that he would reprise his role as Kurt in the upcoming sequel. The actor explained that he had recently spoken to director Peyton Reed, who confirmed his character’s return:

"“Well I don’t know if Peyton has made it to the carpet yet, but Peyton Reed is here. I just got a chance to speak with him the other day and it sounds like Kurt is going to be returning to Ant-Man’s world and will be appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp. We are very, very, very excited.”"

This news is sure to excite fans. One of the best and funniest elements of Ant-Man (2015) was the introduction of Scott Lang’s “crew,” which consisted of Luis, Kurt, and Dave. Kurt was of course a Russian hacker, who aided Scott in robbing Hank Pym and later assisted the group in their attempt to steal the Yellowjacket suit.

It’s nice to know that another familiar face will be returning for the new movie. With this development, it seems very likely that it’s only a matter of time until T.I. is confirmed to return as the third member of the crew, Dave. But, as usual, only time will tell.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
