It’s been a while since we’ve heard the command, “Kneel before Zod!” Via Bleeding Cool, we’re getting news that General Zod may be appearing in Supergirl‘s Season 2 finale episode.
Well, even if he does make a visit, it’s no guarantee that the megalomaniacal Kryptonian will be uttering those words. Then again, Supergirl‘s Superman—played by Tyler Hoechlin—is a throwback to the Donner/Reeve era Man of Steel.
In the same report, the outlet also reveals who’s been cast in the role. Mark Gibbon will be playing the formidable general.
Mark Gibbon Official Headshot
Gibbon is no stranger to the genre, as he’s voiced a number of characters in comics-related animated shows. Among his most notable roles, he’s voiced Nick Fury in Spider-Man Unlimited, Gauntlet in X-Men: Evolution, The Hulk in Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, and Hulk / Grey Hulk in Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
Supergirl’s Season 2 finale is gearing up to be one heck of an event. Tyler Hoechlin was recently announced to reprise his Superman role. So if the rumors of Zod appearing in this episode are true, it’ll be a veritable super-powered Kryptonian showdown.
No episode title or plot details for the Season 2 finale were available at the time of this report.
