The MTV Movie & TV Awards is here, and as usual, the night has been filled with trailers and sneak peeks of upcoming films. Marvel Studios was one of the companies who came to play, and they had a nice little Spider-Man tidbit to drop.

At the ceremony, Tom Holland and Zendaya introduced the first official clip for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The 90-second clip featured Ned’s humorous discovery of Peter Parker’s secret identity. It then transitioned into a quick sizzle reel of different scenes. Most of the footage included scenes that have been shown in previous trailers except for a brief but funny interaction between Peter and his classmate Michelle.

The clip is only a small taste of what we can expect from the film, but it does help to establish two of Peter’s key relationships. One of these is with his friend Ned, and based on the clip, this should be funny yet strong friendship.

The other is with Michelle, who appears to be just as dry-witted and sarcastic as Zendaya promised. It will be interesting to see how her relationship with Peter plays out, especially if she does turn out to be the MCU’s Mary Jane.

As I mentioned, the footage isn’t much, but it’s a nice tease to warm us up for the movie. And as you can expect, this is sure to be the first of many to come. We don’t have to wait too much longer for Spidey’s first solo outing in the MCU, but these clips and TV spots should help to make the wait a little easier.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
