It looks like a surprise is coming in the form of Black Adam!

It’s been a few years since Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was cast as Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam. Progress on the project has been slow, but based on the actor’s recent comments, it looks like things are really starting to move along. He’s even confirmed that he’ll be getting his own film. Now, he is teasing plans for the character’s introduction.

Johnson recently sat down with Fandango while promoting his new film, Baywatch, and reiterated that a Black Adam solo film will happen. He also revealed that Black Adam’s debut in the DC Extended Universe will be a surprise:

"“It’s definitely going to happen, sure. We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out [their DC universe] really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.”"

So it appears that Black Adam could be popping up in the DCEU before Shazam. The question is: where will he make his first appearance? At this point, our best guess would probably be Justice League. He could appear in a post-credits scene as a future antagonist to the team. Johnson himself has even hinted that the character will eventually cross paths with the Man of Steel.
