Composer Michael Giacchino posts a sample of his Spider-Man: Homecoming score.

As of now, Spider-Man: Homecoming is pretty much putting on the final polish for its release in July. And that means adding in the one thing that really gives a film its soul—the musical score. Composer Michael Giacchino recently posted a sample of a scoring session, and avid fans may find the tune to be a bit familiar.

Do you know where it’s from? Some younger listeners may not realize it, but it’s the tune to the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon. Check out the original opening theme:

The score and the overall tone of the film is definitely going in the direction of fun—which is the spirit of Spider-Man himself. Being a lighthearted, optimistic character, an homage to the cheesy cartoon of a bygone era is a perfect move.

It’s unknown if this will be the main theme, but I have a feeling Giacchino has something epic planned. The sample is just a tease of things to come. Like they say, “Save the best for last.” The wait may be a bit torturous, but we won’t have to wait very long. In a little more than a month and a half, we can hear the score for ourselves when Spider-Man: Homecoming is released to theaters.
