Being an older Doctor Who fan, it honestly took me a while to warm up to Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor and the whole idea that the series had been rebooted.
But I guess “reboot” really doesn’t apply here, seeing as everything that came before still happened. All the stories I loved, including classics from the runs of the Fourth and Fifth Doctors all still count. Hell, even the underrated Doctor Who movie co-produced with Fox is considered canon.
Even so, it still took a bit for me to really get into the new Doctor Who. It wasn’t until Matt Smith made his debut as the Eleventh Doctor that I gave in completely and dove head first back into the world of the Doctor.
Almost the entire time the series has been back on the air, new comics have been produced starring the various versions of the Doctor. The current holder of the license is Titan Comics and they have taken a “more is better” approach, giving each and every version of the Doctor his own series or miniseries. For the most part they have been fun, entertaining comics that fans of the show as well as newcomers could enjoy.
Now Titan has taken the wraps off their latest Doctor Who event and it is focusing squarely on the Doctors that helped to revive the series all those years ago.
As revealed by Comic Book Resources, Doctor Who: The Lost Dimension will see the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors unite to face The Void.
Titan teased the series thusly:
"“The event will begin a new era for Titan’s Doctor Who comics, and will find the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctor playing their part to battle The Void! The Void has always existed: ‘No place. The silent realm. The lost dimension.’ But the Void is no longer empty. The Void is hungry, and devouring our universe — through time and space. Now, the four Doctors must join forces to save…everything!”"
Doctor Who: The Lost Dimension will include eight chapters and will kick off with a special Alpha issue written by Nick Abadzis, George Mann and Cavan Scott with artwork by Rachael Stott and Rob Fernandes. The Aplha issue will arrive in stores in August just before the Doctor Who Comics Day global event which happens on Saturday, September 2
From there the event will cross into each of the Doctor’s individual series with Part 2 taking place in The Ninth Doctor, hitting store shelves the following week.

Titan is calling The Lost Dimension a perfect jumping on point for the various Doctor Who comic book series and it could be exactly what (pardon the pun) the doctor ordered. Doctor Who can be a bit intimidating to a newcomer and this event could act as the gateway for many new fans just as Peter Capaldi gets ready to leave the series.
But lucky for all of us, the Doctor will go on, no matter who may be playing the role.
