Marvel has released a preview of the highly anticipated first issue of the upcoming Journey to The Last Jedi – Captain Phasma.

I think I can speak for all Star Wars fans when I say we were all a bit shocked how much everyone seemed to enjoy Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Sure, the movie seemed to duplicate much of what made the original Star Wars such a huge hit, but considering how good A New Hope was and the train wreck that the prequels were, is there really anything wrong with that?

One of the best parts of The Force Awakens was the humor, something that Lucas seemed to forget about when he made the prequels. Episode VII was funny and that (along with a lot of other things) made it such a blast to watch over and over.

One of the best parts was easily when Han Solo and Finn corner Captain Phasma, get her to disable the shields on Starkiller Base and then dump her into a garbage chute. It brought back many memories from the original and had me laughing like a fool in the theater.

Many, myself included, thought that was the end of her story. While Captain Phasma was visually an amazing character, the plot didn’t do much to flesh her out and she seemed like a one-dimensional, easily disposed of villain.

Of course, that theory got shot to hell once it was announced that the chrome-plated stormtrooper would be returning for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But that left one very big question: how exactly did Phasma escape Starkiller Base before it exploded?

This September, we all find out.

Marvel has released a preview of the first issue of Journey to The Last Jedi – Captain Phasma, a four-issue miniseries that takes place between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Written by Kelly Thompson with art by the amazing Marco Checchetto, the book will finally reveal just how Phasma escaped and what she has been doing in the time since.

With Lucasfilm and Disney planning another major media push leading up to The Last Jedi, you can be sure that Captain Phasma will likely be a big part of it.

From the Marvel solicitation:

"Captain Phasma’s fate seemed like it was sealed when she was cornered by the Resistance and thrown into a garbage compactor before the Starkiller Base was destroyed. But it’s going to take much more than that to keep this chrome-armored warrior down!"

Must Read: Marvel’s Kingpin series ending with the fifth issue

Journey to The Last Jedi – Captain Phasma goes on sale in September and features a cover Paul Renaud. It will also include variant covers by Mark Brooks, Diego Olortegui, Todd Nauck, Paulina Ganucheau and Skottie Young.
