Final Round-Up

This month, Funko put a twist on the Spider-Man theme because they know fans can’t enough of the MCU’s younger web-slinger. Aside from those unique items, Funko’s Pop! proved that the company is still making innovations in their designs. The translucent web-wings makes the figure a must-have for collectors.

Still not convinced that this is a great box? Due to the items being exclusive and unique to this offering, we’re going to do a theoretical breakdown in price using comparable items found on Ebay:

  • “‘Spider-Man: Homecoming” Patch: $4.00–$7.00
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Pin: $4.00–$5.00
  • Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #001 Variant Edition Comic Book: $2.99–$7.99
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” T-Shirt: $15.00–$25.00
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Mystery Minis “Spider-Man (Homemade Suit)”: $6.99
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Mystery Minis “Shocker”: $6.99
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Exclusive Pop! Figure: $30.00–$50.00

Using the lower end of the pricing range, all items add up to be $69.97. One thing I have to add is the Spider-Man Pop! figure seems to be a rare item on Ebay. There’s been a lack of people putting theirs up for auction—which means that a majority of owners are opting to keep it or are waiting for the film to come out, allowing them to net a higher sales price.

Since Funko already had a Spider-Man box last year (August 2016), they did something focused on the unique aspects of Spider-Man: Homecoming. This turned out to be showing Peter as a kid—something he complains about in the trailer. As a collector, this gives us a new angle on something that’s been done before, which always makes for a fun box.

A special thanks to Funko Marketing Manager Yoko McCann for helping us with this review.
