Thor’s second solo outing is definitely the weakest entry in the MCU. It does provide some solid development for the God of Thunder and highlights the relationship between him and his devious brother, Loki, quite well. There are even a couple of cool action sequences.
However, the movie has a basic plot, annoying supporting characters and the flattest villain to ever come out of a Marvel film. It’s immediately clear that the main purpose of the film is to set up an Infinity Stone—and even that isn’t done all that well. Overall, this never quite felt like a story that needed to be told.
