Her Cape 100 Things to Know About SDCC continues with #87: Welcome to the FXhibition

FX returns to San Diego Comic Con 2017 with the FXhibition offsite attraction. Once again the network will take over the lawn between the San Diego Convention Center and the Hilton Bayfront Hotel with unforgettable experiences designed to bend “the boundaries of Comic-Con’s reality.” Some of the shows that will be featured at the FXhibition are Legion, Atlanta, and American Horror Story.

Fans of the new show Legion will be able to experience the “Sessions Mixed Reality Experience” and visit the Atlanta Shop Shot. American Horror Story fans will be able to gaze at the AHS Zoetrope. (A Zoetrope is one of those spinning things that makes a stationary image look like it is moving. You’ve seen them in movies like House on Haunted Hill and The Conjuring 2)

If you’re wondering about the level of detail these experiences can be, let me share my story about the American Horror Story experience at 2016’s FXhibition. The AHS VR Experience included a very engaging virtual reality experience celebrating key moments from the first five seasons of American Horror Story. You can read my account of the experience here. It left me…shook. Yeah.

More from Conventions And Shows

The FXhibition will be open Thursday, July 20, from 12pm to 6pm, Friday from 10am to 6pm with evening programming from 8-10pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 2pm. In previous years the FXhibition area has been very crowded with lines for all of the attractions. This is due in part to having the attraction open to everyone, making it a hotspot for people without SDCC badges. Plan to spend some time exploring the area, and bring sunscreen because it can be warm!
