Spider-Man: Homecoming left fans with a few unanswered questions. Two of these were Uncle Ben and the exact circumstances surrounding his death. Many believe this could be explored in the sequel. As a result, many are already fancasting the character. Franchise star Tom Holland has also been thinking about this, and he has an interesting (and unexpected) choice for the role.
Holland, recently speaking with BBC Radio 1, he would like to see former Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire play Uncle Ben. Despite this, he doubts Maguire would be up for it:
"“I kinda want Tobey Maguire to play Uncle Ben. I think that’d be super funny, but I don’t think he’ll do it.”"
Maguire is definitely not the the first person who comes to mind when you think of Uncle Ben. Honestly, it would be hard for viewers to watch him portray the character without thinking of him as Peter Parker.

However, it is an intriguing and plausible casting choice. In the MCU, we now have a younger Aunt May, so why can’t we have a younger Uncle Ben? Although Marisa Tomei is ten years older than Maguire, the pairing could still work.
Of course, like Holland said, the chances of Maguire taking on the iconic role are slim — but stranger things have happened in the world of movies.
