The Punisher synopsis for Marvel-Netflix show revealed
The official synopsis for The Punisher was revealed by Netflix.
The Punisher will be Marvel’s next Netflix show to air. It will follow The Defenders, but not be tied much to the eight-episode series. This stars Jon Bernthal as Frank “The Punisher” Castle, whose debut in season 2 of Daredevil was one of its highlights.
The official release date for The Punisher is not yet known. It’s a “classified” piece of information that Marvel and Netflix haven’t revealed, and it’s unknown when that will happen. The 13 episodes titles were released
A significant piece to the show’s build-up was dropped on Monday, however. The synopsis was revealed, which gave a clue toward the direction of the show (h/t Netflix Life):
"After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone."

It looks like The Punisher will do a deeper dive into Castle’s family history. Viewers learned in Daredevil season 2 how his family was murdered, which sent him on a path of vigilantism in New York City and led him to Daredevil. There could b a follow-up to this, along with a look at Frank’s history.
Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is also part of the show. She was most interested in Castle’s past in Daredevil. Maybe she’ll be on an investigative hunt to figure out more, along with interviewing Frank for the New York Bulletin. If so, what could she uncover? What will else will Frank reveal?
This will all come together on The Punisher, on an unknown release date. We projected it for mid-November but, of course, nothing is official. We’ll let you know once it’s officially announced.
