Avengers 4: Kevin Feige confirms Captain Marvel for the movie

Captain Marvel is officially set to appear in Avengers 4!
The Untitled Avengers Sequel or Avengers 4 will not only end the MCU’s Phase Three, but it will also conclude the 22-film story arc that began back in 2008 with Iron Man. As such, it’s expected to feature most of the heroes that have been introduced over the years. However, there’s one character whose inclusion has been up in the air – Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers). Now, we know for sure if the character will appear.
While discussing work on Marvel’s current slate of films with IndieWire, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige gave an update on the status of Captain Marvel. He also hinted that the film would serve as a major lead-in to Avengers 4:

"“We’re really focusing on ‘Captain Marvel’ and the work that Anna and Ryan are doing. It’s going to be a big part of heading towards this epic conclusion and epic finale of 22 movies over the course of 10 years. That is focus for the next six movies we have to finish and get out.”"
Although he stressed that the studio is focused on making that project the best it can be, he also confirmed that Carol Danver’s journey will factor into the concluding Avengers movie:
"“Really, the focus now is on delivering ‘Captain Marvel’ and then bringing Captain Marvel’s story into the finale of everything we’ve started thus far.”"
With Feige’s comments, we finally have firm confirmation of the character’s involvement in the story, but it’s not a total surprise. Just a few weeks ago Larson, who is playing Captain Marvel, was spotted on the set of the film.
Having Carol Danvers show up makes perfect sense. With almost every MCU hero appearing, it would have been odd to leave her out of the finale. Still, with her story set in the early 1990s, it’s hard to say how she enters Avengers 4. And, in terms of her current location, all we know is that she is “out there.” Nevertheless, it’s safe to assume that Marvel likely has these details figured out.
