Kevin Feige responds to Inhumans question in the best possible way
By Erik Swann
Kevin Feige gave the perfect answer when asked about Inhumans.
Marvel’s Inhumans has been widely considered to be a misfire. From the moment the first cast photo dropped, fans took issue with the series. Of course, it wasn’t always meant for TV. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige originally announced it as part of the MCU’s Phase Three. Since the property went to TV, Feige has been quiet on the matter. But, he was recently asked about it, and he gave a pretty smart answer.
While speaking with Uproxx, Feige was asked how he felt about losing Inhumans to television and if he thought the studio could have done a great job with it. He then gave a brief but clever reply:
More from Movies
- James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy casts more major DC characters
- New Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer pushes Arthur to his limits
- 7 actors who could replace Ezra Miller as The Flash in the DC Universe
- Masters of the Universe reboot’s new domain could be at Amazon’s Prime Video Streamer
- James Gunn gives interesting update of Superman and Supergirl movies at DC Studios
"“[Laughs] You’re breaking up, Mike. I can’t hear you. You’re breaking up…”"
Feige is typically sharp when it comes to dodging certain questions, and this situation was no different. It definitely wasn’t a bad question, but it’s understandable that the filmmaker might not want to give his thoughts. However, it is worth mentioning that he is a huge fan of the property, and his silence on the matter could be a sign of how he feels.
As mentioned, Inhumans was initially going to be a part of Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige mentioned the property’s feature film potential as early as 2011. The studio even had a draft from Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole. But, ultimately, these plans didn’t come to fruition.
Next: Hey, Marvel, how about a Loki movie?
We’ll probably never know what Feige truly thinks about the show or how he and the studio would have handled the franchise. But, based on both his and Marvel Studios’ track record, it likely would have been stronger than what fans got.
