Fox’s The Gifted has shown that the X-Men universe is ripe for television adaptation.

The X-Men universe is so big by itself that it can support an entire film franchise on its own, along with all the various cartoon series out there. The biggest problem with the X-Men movies so far is that each one focuses on so many characters that not everyone gets enough focus and some characters get too much. The X-Men movie universe is just now starting to expand into teams like the New Mutants and characters like Deadpool who was once a lesser known character, believe it or not.

If they spent a bit more time on developing some of the X-Men properties as television series like The Gifted then I think a lot of unsung mutants could get the spotlight. At this point, there have a monstrous amount of mutants and the various teams that contain them. Some of the lesser known characters could become much more well-known if given the opportunity.

There are always new versions of Uncanny X-Men, multiple X-Forces, X-Factors, eXcaliburs, X-treme X-Men, New X-Men, original X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, and New Mutants. Many of these teams or single characters could carry not only their own comic book series, but their own television series if someone did it correctly. Fox’s The Gifted has had a pretty strong start with its first handful of episodes. These are ten of some of the best choices for future X-Men TV series.
