Injustice 2 has announced new playable characters!

The time has finally come. The characters for the third and final Fighter Pack for the video game, Injustice 2, have been announced. The characters include super beings from the DC Comics Universe as well as a surprise that nobody expected. The announcement was made on the video game’s official Twitter account with a video you can find here.

The first character is Atom, a superhero who has the ability to shrink and grow his entire body. Similar to Marvel’s Ant-Man, Atom’s powers will allow him to move quickly and trick opponents during combat. We see him defeating Raiden and Black Manta at the beginning of the video.

The second character is the supervillain known as Enchantress. Most fans will know the character from the DC Extended Universe’s film Suicide Squad (hopefully the sequel will be better). She is a demonic spirit trapped inside the body of an Archaeologist, who has some mystical powers and could prove to be a diverse fighter. Her appearance doesn’t shock me, as if they wanted to capitalize on the Suicide Squad hype that unfortunately doesn’t pay off.

The final character (or characters) are not from DC Comics, Mortal Combat, or even Dark Horse. They are no other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You read that right. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael will be joining the fight against Superman, Batman, Harley Quinn and much more. Since the group has been announced, fans all over the internet have many questions regarding what the gameplay will be like. As of this writing, many of these answers remain a mystery.

If you notice in the mini-trailer, Leo said that they will “fight as a team.” Could this mean that all four turtles are bunched up together while they fight? Does each of the four primary buttons control an attack for each turtle? Or do you pick one turtle at a time and could switch throughout the map? There are a lot of directions they can go with this. If they go the traditional route of you can play as each turtle separately, it’s exactly brilliant. Since there are four ninja turtles, that’s an extra three characters that we wouldn’t get from any other character announcement. So in a way, fans of the video game will be given an extra fighter pack if this is how it plays out.

Right now, I am not sure how to feel about this lineup. However, I’m excited to see what the gameplay is like and where they all will rank in the best DLC characters.
