Supergirl star Melissa Benoist speaks on Andrew Kreisberg’s sexual harassment allegations
Arrowverse producer Andrew Kreisberg was recently accused of sexual harassment. Supergirl star Melissa Benoist spoke out about the allegations in an Instagram post.
It is a very trying time for Hollywood as of late as in every corner of the entertainment industry. Now that spotlight has taken a peek on the smaller screen and Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow producer, Andrew Kreisberg, was suspended last week by Warner Brothers amid sexual harassment allegations.
There have allegedly been 19 different accounts of claims of indecent demeanor from 15 women and four men. He allegedly requested massages from female staffers, which made them “uncomfortable,” and kissed women without permission. There were also allegations of sexual comments made toward women.
Supergirl actress, Melissa Benoist, spoke out against alleged harassment. The first part of her statement is below:
"“I am a woman who leads a show that supports equality and feminism, empowerment, and fighting for what is right. I have always tried to conduct myself this way personally, as well.”"
The full quote can be found below on her Instagram feed, but among the things that had been addressed is that she felt this was ‘heartbreaking’.
Over on the emerald archer side, Emily Bett Rickards, best known for playing Felicity Smoak on Arrow made her own statement in support of Benoist and called out those who turn a blind eye.

Surrounding these said claims, the showrunner of a number of shows as Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl has denied in any appropriate discussions and physical contact involved, but admitted to the comments. Kreisberg already made his statement to Variety, and said his previous comments “were not sexualized.”
