Kevin Feige admits that he would have liked for Captain Marvel to be released before Wonder Woman.
Comic book fans rejoiced when Captain Marvel was announced as part of Marvel Studios’ Phase Three slate back in 2014. It would mark one of the few instances that a superhero film would be headed by a female lead in recent years. While speaking with Vanity Fair for the studio’s 10th anniversary, Feige revealed that he hoped Captain Marvel would precede Wonder Woman:
"“Yeah, I think it’s always fun to be first with most things.”"
Despite this, he is still positive that about the film’s chances for success, and assured that it would be different from Warner Bros. and DC’s superhero epic:
"“Everything’s going to work out. Captain Marvel is a very different type of movie.”"

However, this will be the first time that an MCU movie will be held to the standard of a DCEU production.
There are also clear similarities. For example, both are led by superheroines, who are both facing otherworldly entities. Additionally, both movies are also period pieces.
