Marvel Two-in-one #1: Written Chip Zdarksy and art by Jim Cheung. There were once four and then there were two. The Human Torch and the Thing are the only members of the Fantastic Four left on this plane of existence. Something has gone wrong with Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm is the only one that can help him.
Marvel has finally brought these two back together and it is just in time. It is wonderful news to hear any of the Fantastic Four jumping back into action together. Doctor Doom has been hiding something ever since the end of the Secret Wars and it will completely change the lives of Johnny Storm and Ben.
Mister Miracle #5: Written by Tom King and art by Mitch Gerards. So how does Mister Miracle spend his last night on earth? In the arms of his one true love, Big Barda, of course. Scott Free has been condemned to death by the new Highmaster Orion. He will have to return to New Genesis for execution. He gets one last night to spend with Barda, but it is safe to say that it will not be quiet. If Mister Miracle is truly infected by the power of Darkseid, then won’t the dark forces intervene to save his life from the executioner’s swing?
Daredevil #596: Written by Charles Soule and art by Stefano Landini. This is part 2 of the Mayor Fisk story line. The newly elected mayor of New York City has set his sights squarely on Daredevil. Every person in law enforcement is now on the hunt for the man without fear. Daredevil has nowhere to hide, but Matt Murdock’s life is looking up. He is about to get the most incredible offer of his legal career.
Justice League of America #20: Written by Steven Orlando and art by Hugo Petrus. It is the big finale of Prometheus’ strike on the Justice League of America. Vixen and Prometheus continue their face-off as the rest of the league take on the villain known as Afterthought actually inside the body of Lobo. Will Prometheus be proved right that the League cannot be trusted and is just a hollow group of ne’er do wells doomed to fail?
Runaways #4: Written by Rainbow Rowell and art by Kris Anka. The Runaways have returned and started a reunion tour of picking up where all their former members have left off. This issue picks up with Molly Hayes aka Princess Powerful and where she is today. They find Molly seemingly living happily with her grandmother, but that can’t be right can it? Rainbow Rowell’s relaunch of the Runaways has been a breath of fresh air into the team. The crew finally feels like they are back after all this time. It’s also well-timed with the new Hulu TV series.
