1. Harley has her own squad

As fans already know, Harley was one of the bright spots in the original Suicide Squad film. And with another on the way, it’s likely she’ll take more of a leadership role like in the comics. In the comics, after Rick Flag’s death it is Harley Quinn who takes over as leader but that’s not all. The Crown Princess of Crime is also a member of the anti-villain female group, Gotham City Sirens. So there really is no need for her to be in Birds of Prey.

Should the Joker/Harley Quinn movie focus on Mad Love, the relationship between Quinn and Ivy would directly lend itself to the origins of Gotham City Sirens. While it remains to be seen if either of the two movies will be made, it’s still worth mentioning that Harley does have her own group of women who saved Gotham. It started after Ivy helped Harley find her way Ivy rescued an emotionally and physically defeated Catwoman and helped her return to form. In Bruce Wayne’s absence the trio of women rescued Gotham from time to time but weren’t exactly strangers of crime.

There’s no denying the popularity of Harley Quinn so it’s no wonder why they’d want to exploit her popularity. In a perfect world, Hamada and company would find a way to kill two birds with one stone. Should they feel the DCEU feel the need to include Harley Quinn in a Birds of Prey film then do so by making her the enemy. While fans of the character may want to see her become DC’s female version of Deadpool, it’s okay if she and her team of Sirens butt heads with the Birds of Prey.
