2. History of the Black Panther

Every hero has an origin story. For example, Superman’s home planet was destroyed and he came to Earth. Spider-man was bitten by a radioactive spider (or a totem) and became Spider-Man. Bruce Wayne dedicated his life to fighting crime after he watched his parents die and later became Batman. The history of the Black Panther is unlike any origin story that we’ve seen in comic book movies.

First, T’Challa was not the first Black Panther. The Black Panther title has been around since the wooly mammoth roamed the Earth (we see this in Marvel Legacy). The title that comes with not just being a warrior, but also a king and role model. The Black Panther is charged with upholding everything that Wakanda holds dear and defending the country. It’s not just a job, the title is a privilege and an honor that the King must also fight for to hold.

The origin of the Black Panther doesn’t need to be too detailed but must be told. It needs to be just enough that the audience understands why being the Black Panther is important. We need to see the trials that the Black Panther must go through to receive his or her title (Yes, there have been women Black Panthers). Everything from the heart-shaped herb to the fights should be a major focus.
