How will this play into Infinity War?

Unfortunately, this may be the only movie that doesn’t have any connection leading into Avengers: Infinity War. Iron Man 2 was more of a lead into Marvel’s Avengers and the Captain America movies than anything else. The introduction of Black Widow, the re-casting of Rhodey and introduction of War Machine, and the post credit scene showing Thor’s hammer was all for the first Avengers movie. There was no mention of the Infinity Stones, Thanos, or anything intergalactic.

The only thing that’s possible is the reemergence of Justin Hammer. With everything going on with Thanos, Earth is going to need all the help they can get. Justin Hammer may be able to provide S.H.I.E.L.D. with weapons needed to take out some of Thanos’ weaker lackies. Even if all he’s providing are guns.

Despite the fact that the first two Thor movies were reviewed poorly, Iron Man 2 might be the movie that everyone forgets about. Even at the end of the movie, Fury tells Stark he won’t be an Avenger and he ends up on the team anyway. If anything, Iron Man 2 should be looked at as a standalone movie.
