Dan Slott’s run on Spider-Man is coming to an end with Amazing Spider-Man #801. Before that, you can expect 80 pages of content from him in issue 800.

With Dan Slott’s run coming to an end soonAmazing Spider-Man #800 is going to be an issue with more content than usual. It’s not often that you see a comic numbering hit 800, in fact, this is a first in Marvel’s history. There’s no doubt that this is a special accomplishment. While Marvel’s numbering system did get confusing for a while, their legacy numbering let’s you know just how long some characters have been in commission for.

Amazing Spider-Man #800 will have 80 pages of story from Slott. The Red Goblin (Norman Osborn) and Peter Parker’s Spider-Man will have their final showdown in this issue. The issue’s title is “Go Down Swinging,” which sounds like it’ll be a “go big or go home” moment.

Spider-Man and Norman Osborn have been facing off since Norman appeared as the Green Goblin way back in 1964 in Amazing Spider-Man #14. That’s about as deep of a history as you can get when it comes to Spider-Man villains. Norman has taken many aliases over the years and as of Amazing Spider-Man #795, he even took on the Carnage persona.

Dan Slott will have one more issue after this, but issue 800 is one that people will have a huge focus on since it packs in so much story. The issue has art from Stuart Immonen, Humberto Ramos and Giuseppe Camuncoli. The cover art is by Alex Ross. Are you looking forward to the huge battle between the Red Goblin and Spider-Man?
