2. Ant-Man & The Wasp

Despite the heavy skepticism surrounding it, Ant-Man proved to be a worthy addition to the ever-growing MCU. It had great action, introduced audiences to a likable new superhero, and successfully explored an intimate story of a man (Scott Lang) trying to become a better person for his daughter.

Given that successful combination of elements, fans were eager to see what the film’s sequel, Ant-Man & The Wasp, had in store for Scott, Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym. After months of excitement and speculation, Marvel treated fans to the film’s first trailer, and it was one of the most enjoyable pieces of marketing the House of Ideas has ever put out.

The teaser had everything. First of all, it showed that Ant-Man & The Wasp carried over the heartfelt family dynamics that made its predecessor such an enjoyable experience. Secondly, it got audiences reacquainted with the insane humor that’s come to be expected from a film starring heroes as peculiar as Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne.

The visual effects were also top-notch. We got to see more of how varied the Pym Particles could be, as Hank Pym shrunk a tall building to the size of a suitcase, and Hope shrunk the van she was driving during a daring car chase. All of that exciting goodness was topped by a stellar, first full look at Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) as The Wasp. The trailer showed off just how powerful she was, and successfully established her as the story’s co-lead.

Delivering a trailer as good as Ant-Man & The Wasp‘s was isn’t easy, but it speaks to the love put behind the movie.
