The Bad: Not a Jessica Jones story

The character of Jessica Jones was good. Krysten Ritter continues to portray Jessica Jones very well. She captures her anger, drunken mess, and promiscuous behavior perfectly. She also has the attitude that has made Jessica Jones so popular. But that is where it stops. Jessica Jones not a weak-willed character. Nor is she easily manipulated. I think this comes from having too many directors with too many ideas about the story and not enough about the character herself.

Season 2 of Jessica Jones doesn’t seem to be a Jessica Jones story.  The show was more drawn out than it needed to be. Having much unnecessary moments just seemed like filler at times. This was a really good detective show, but not a great Jessica Jones story. But that is not a bad thing.

What season 2 of Jessica Jones accomplished was something we haven’t gotten from DaredevilIron Fist, or season one of Jessica Jones. A legit show. A buddy of mine pointed out that it was refreshing not having aliens and ninjas in every episode. It may not make people happy that this isn’t a Jessica Jones kind of show, but it is in fact a really good detective show. Everything that happens to Trish Walker towards the end of the show adds to the climax of the story. An unexpected villain
