2. Black Adam solo film

A Black Adam solo film has the potential to be absolutely amazing considering his story and how it ties to Egyptian history. Though a bit convoluted, Comic Vine explains that Teth Adam was an honorable heroic servant of Ramses II who would be Shazam’s (the wizard) first-ever champion. After tragedy struck, Adam would become morally misguided and dangerous. He’d use his power to impose his will and ideologies onto others as more an anti-villain.

The Black Adam solo film isn’t exactly in development, despite EW breaking the news early last year.Still, it would be nice to see the DCEU going forward with a Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) solo movie before ultimately having he and Shazam clash on the big screen. On DeKnight’s resume is a show that he created which follows the Thracian gladiator who leads a slave rebellion against the Roman Republic, Spartacus.

The correlation between Rome and Egypt are historically documented but it only serves as a minute reason for why DeKnight is the perfect director for Black Adam. Spartacus has all the elements that DeKnight would be forced to adapt on the big screen. With DC potentially going with an R-Rated film, it will be Spartacus’ gritty, bloody, violent qualities that’ll translate well onto the big screen. The historical depth in which DeKnight entrenched his show in is telling. With his recent experience with a big budget film in Pacific Rim: Uprising in addition to Spartacus, DeKnight would be perfect for Black Adam’s solo film.
