1. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man)

You can say what you want about Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3, but Robert Downey Jr. Wasn’t the problem. He has always been sensational. People look at Downey Jr. and see him as Tony Stark and only see the, “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.” Sure, it’s a major part of the Tony Stark personality, but that’s only a part of what makes him great.

A big part of the Iron Man franchise and persona is the cool, what makes Stark a well rounded character is him overcoming his emotional obstacles and sometimes not overcoming them. In the second Iron Man, Stark had to overcome the idea of his own mortality as well as his alcoholism to save the day. In Captain America: Civil War, Stark had to fight the Avengers over a law he believed in. Maybe his crowning moment was in Spider-Man: Homecoming when Tony Stark had to play the father role to Spider-Man when Peter was becoming irresponsible while trying to fight crime. Downey Jr. showed his range more and more with every movie he was in.
