Wonder Woman 2: Which Cheetah will we get?

Moviegoers know Wonder Woman 2 will feature Cheetah, but which version of this DC Comics villain?

We know Kristen Wiig is Cheetah and we also know Wonder Woman 2 begins production in a month. What we do not know is which incarnation of Cheetah she is playing. We have to keep in mind these are many versions of Cheetah, so let us cover them and speculate.

The first and original Cheetah is Priscilla Rich, all the way from 1943. Senior fans who grew up on Golden Age and Silver Age DC Comics know her. Challenge of the Super Friends viewers may know her as well. Believe it or not this Cheetah is actually a normal human being in a cheetah costume. She is an aristocrat from Washington D.C. and suffers from an inferiority complex. In addition, there is her split personality between that of Priscilla Rich and her evil persona. She notices this when she sees her reflection. Think Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin in Spider-Man.

There is the report of Wonder Woman 2 shooting in Washington D.C. and on top of that is the rumor the film takes place in the eighties. Therefore, it does seem possible Priscilla Rich’s Cheetah works. If they plan to build a league of their own as Luthor states in Justice League, then Priscilla might be too old for that future roster. Hence, use her now and save another iteration of Cheetah for later. Still, Priscilla Rich is quite irrelevant ever since Crisis on Infinite Earths, save for a small nod on rare occasions in other media.
