Learn from the Avengers franchise
In 2008 Samuel Jackson debuted as Nick Fury in Iron Man. He shocked Marvel fans with one sentence, “I’m here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative.” With that one phrase, we were given a heads up about what to expect from the franchise going forward. In 2012, Marvel’s Avengers hit theaters and the movie ended with a glimpse of Thanos smiling. With that moment, we saw that the Avengers would soon be in for a fight of their lives. Fast forward to 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War broke box office records and made almost every fan happy. None of this would have been possible if Marvel didn’t take their time and get the characters and the movies right.
Ten years is a long time to build a franchise, but it was worth it. In only its second week, Avengers: Infinity War has hit the billion-dollar mark and is the fifth highest grossing superhero movie of all time. It also has the record for the second biggest second weekend ever. This is a perfect example of why being patient works out in the end.
