30 greatest Deadpool moments in Marvel Comics

12. Uncanny X-Force
Deadpool has wanted to be an X-Man for a long time. Too bad Cyclops wants nothing to do with him and Wolverine has hated him for years. When Cyclops disbanded his hit squad X-Force, Wolverine told him he agreed. In secret, Wolverine knew the importance of X-Force and put his own team together. Wolverine recruited Psylocke, Archangel, Fantomex, and Deadpool.
Despite how Wolverine felt about Deadpool at the time, he was a great asset. On their first mission, they set out to kill Apocalypse. When they get to him, they find an Apocalypse who couldn’t have even been in his teens. While Wolverine aborted the mission, Fantomex killed the kid.
Deadpool didn’t like the idea and it weighed heavy on him. Unbeknownst to the rest of the team, Fantomex cloned the young Apocalypse and raised him on his own. When Kid Apocalypse was kidnapped by a new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, X-Force sprung into action. When Deadpool caught the kid, he didn’t kill him. He made it a point to rescue him and remind him that he didn’t have to be what everyone wanted him to be.
Kid Apocalypse (whose name is Evan) and Deadpool ended up having a great relationship that was beneficial to them both. Wade became like a big brother to him and Evan helped smooth out Wade’s rough edges. When Evan went full-on Apocalypse in Axis, Deadpool helped Evan escape after he went back to normal. He’s one of the few people Wade considers family.
