Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider’s ongoing story crosses paths with Doctor Strange’s current event miniseries, with generally entertaining results.

Writer: Peter David
Artist: Will Sliney
Colorist: Rachelle Rosenberg
Letterer: VC’s Joe Caramagna
Cover Artists: Khary Randolph & Emilio Lopez

Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider #15 ties into “Damnation,” which sees Doctor Strange trying to make repairs to Las Vegas. Instead, more trouble just comes to the city and a Ben suits up to try and stop Mephisto. Demons are roaming around and things are off to a crazy start with this issue.

More from Spider-Man

The Hotel Inferno is the center of everything, which Ben finds out from Jezebel, who took June in the previous issue. Will Sliney and Rachelle Rosenberg do a fantastic job with getting down the tone of the chaos consuming Las Vegas. Peter David has a great understanding of Ben, which makes this title a fun one to read.

Like Jezebel said, the Avengers have been turned into demons and aren’t going to be any help at all  that means that Ben is going to have to work with what he’s given. It might not be much, but he’s still trying to be a better person, so he’s doing everything he can to figure it out.

This issue is just the start of Mephisto wreaking havoc in Las Vegas so the story itself doesn’t move along a ton, but it is still an entertaining read. The next issue will continue the story and I can’t wait to see how Ben handles this new challenge. This is a solid start to the tie-in event.
