Jefferson Davis

Son: Miles Morales

Jefferson Davis has had a bias against the superpower community for years. I don’t think the irony was lost on him when he found out his son Miles became part of that same superhuman community. When Jefferson found out that Miles was Spider-Man, Jefferson lashed out and blamed his son for the death of his wife (Miles’ mother). Not the most fatherly thing to do, but what happened next absolutely was. He apologized for how he acted and told Miles about his time as an undercover S.H.I.E.LD. Agent and how he met his first evil mutant.

This was the beginning of Jefferson’s relationship with Miles being Spider-Man. He was honest and upfront about why he hated people with powers. Miles being one of those people helped Jefferson get over his issues.

Jefferson almost lost his son due to his bias, but, thankfully, he didn’t. After their moment, Jefferson did his best to keep his secret and help him along the way. It wasn’t an easy road, but they walked the path together. Miles felt comforted by having his father to confide in. An adult who he could get direction from. However, when Miles was getting out of line, Jefferson let him know. When Cable wanted to use Miles, Jefferson confronted him like a father would and should. Their story shows how a rocky middle can bring forth an amazing future.
