Booster Gold
Before he became Booster Gold, Michael Jon Carter was a college football star in the year 2442 with bad attitude and worse morals. His talents earned him the name Booster but his shaving of points and betting on his own games made him a disgrace.
After he was kicked off the team. Michael took and part time job at the Metropolis History Museum and took interest in 20th Century heroes and villains. Anger and demoralization aided him Michael’s willingness to steal a Rip Hunter’s Time Sphere and travel to the 20th Century. Michael was prepared to masquerade as a hero, stealing a Legion ring, super powered equipment, and a robot designed for the museum loaded with historical data, Skeets.
Booster Gold’s unique story and cocky nature is why we think a series about him works. As a matter of fact, Eric Martsolf did a fantastic job as Booster Gold on an episode of Smallville — giving us a tease of what could be. Martsolf is 46 now so playing a former college athlete isn’t happening this time around. There have been some in again off again whispers about a potential movie. Now that DC Universe exist, we can and should get us a Booster Gold series.
