Static Shock
Static Shock became a mainstream hit when it aired in Kids’ WB for five seasons. Warner Bros struck gold and had eyes glued to the screen for four years (2000-2004) and the demand for Static even led to a comic book relaunch by DC/Milestone.
Virgil was just an average student growing up in a gang infested neighborhood. He was raised by his father after his mother was murdered during a gang war. There’s a bully named Francis, aka F-Stop, his crush Frieda and his best friend Richie. Static was forced to battle a guy named Wade and his gang. However, a timely gas leak granted him powers along with a number of others in Dakota City — thus Static was born.

Why we want a live-action Static?
Even after 14 years, our thirst for Static is real. Why? From his slang to his dreads, Virgil aka Static oozed swag. It’ll be easy for DC Universe to reboot the cartoon but we want something better. We have been waiting forever to get a live-action Static Shock movie or show.
In fact, back in May of 2015 we thought that Jayden Smith was going to play the electro-charged hero — it never happened. CW’s Black Lighting is proof that a show based on a character living in the hood with electric powers can work. So it’s about time we get to see Static do his thing. And there’s no better place for DC than to bring it to their streaming service. And Tremaine Brown Jr. could play him, you’re welcome.
