The Batman: 8 actresses who could play Selina Kyle aka Catwoman

1. Gemma Arterton 

Gemma Arterton is a supremely talented actress with range. She’s been making her rounds in Hollywood for some time and proved she has no limits. Her resume is littered with diversity from roles in The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Byzantium, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter, or Runner Runner. Arterton can play a kick-ass warrior, spiritual guide, or tortured soul so playing Selina Kyle would be easy.

Arterton would be great as the comic book accurate depiction of Selina Kyle. Arterton would capture all the darkest parts of Selina like she did as Alice in The Disappearance of Alice Creed. We saw how she’d look kicking ass in black spandex in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter. There will be a transition period as Selina Kyle goes from a prostitute working for a pimp.

In Year One Selina grows and becomes the badass burglar, Catwoman. Arterton is a gifted actress who’ll bring depth to Selina. There’s arguably no better actress more perfect for the role than Gemma Arterton. 

If Matt Reeves does plan on going all in with Batman Year One Selina Kyle has to be in it. There’s no shortage of actresses who’d nail the role of Selina Kyle so we can’t wait to see who Matt Reeves has in mind.  If he needs some help he can always refer to our list.
