Uncanny X-Men are coming back and they’re needed

Deep story arcs
The X-Men are one of the staples of the Marvel universe. Their stories have provided fans with stories on social injustice involving prejudice and hatred. Arcs like God Loves, Man Kills dealt with issues that the Avengers and Fantastic Four seldom confront. While this may not have been an Uncanny X-Men story, it’s a prime example of what the X-Men dealt with while they were together. Quotes like Ariel saying to Rev William Stryker show exactly what it means to be an X-Man:
"“[Nightcrawler] had every reason to be bitter, every excuse to become as much of a demon inside and out. But he decided he’d rather learn to laugh instead! I hope I can be half the person he is. And if I have to choose between caring for my friend and believing in your God… then I choose… m-my friend!”"
Depth is the biggest thing that was missing from the X-Men. X-Men Gold (which has its last issue in September) did an amazing job of keeping the spirit of the X-Men alive. Kitty was charged with being the leader of the X-Men and the school while they were battling classic villains like Mesmero and new bigoted humans like Lydia Nance.
The series had the feeling of the Uncanny X-Men. Heart, deep stories, action, and some of your favorite characters like Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Rachel Grey. But it was missing one crucial thing. It missed the heart and soul of the X-Men Scott Summers.
