8. Zazie Beetz as Domino

Ryan Reynolds was amazing as the star of Deadpool 2. This shouldn’t shock anyone. What was surprising was Zazie Beetz and her portrayal of the Mutant Mercenary of Mystery Domino. This was Zazie’s first major blockbuster as an action star and she was the MVP and biggest surprise in the movie. So much so that fans are already anticipating Zazie in her own solo film as Domino.

One of the questions I had going in was how Deadpool 2 was going to portray luck powers and how Zazie would respond. The answer was beautifully. The biggest takeaway was how she responded kept up with stars like Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin (who played the time jumping Cable).

Whether it was Deadpool growing back his legs and her making jokes or fighting Cable one on one, Zazie never underachieved. In fact, she even stole the scene more than a few times. Her future is as Domino is as bright as anyone’s. This comes at a perfect time. We live in a world where female superheroes are starting to be better represented. Since her powers are R-rated, Domino will be a major asset to the Marvel/Disney franchise.
