All 20 Marvel Cinematic Universe films returning to theaters in IMAX
The entire catalog of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies is coming to IMAX screens to celebrate the franchise’s 10-year anniversary.
The MCU film franchise is perhaps the most successful in the superhero genre and a marathon is coming to theaters to remind you why it’s so groundbreaking. Every single Marvel Studios film to date is heading to select IMAX theaters across the nation in a massive event: the Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary Film Festival.
The festival takes place from Aug. 30 until Sept. 6 and will feature every MCU movie in order of release. The festival also includes three extra days of curated marathons — one day of origin story films, one day of the best Marvel team-ups, and one day of screenings chosen by fan-vote. In the wake of Avengers: Infinity War and with the currently untitled Avengers 4 on the horizon, it feels like the perfect time to reminisce on one of the biggest franchises in modern movies.

Not only is the MCU being brought back in full force, but some films are even receiving some visual upgrades. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger are all screening in digitally remastered IMAX for the first time! Marvel fans may jump at the opportunity to see these films in IMAX before everyone else.
The themed festival days are also going to catch fans’ eyes, especially with the currently-pending fan screening day. The vote commenced on IMAX’s official Twitter account with choices consisting of Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, Black Panther, and The Avengers. Cast your vote now — only two of the four will make it, but let’s be honest, we’ll all just go home and watch the other two anyway.
Tickets are already on sale for the event, and unlike typical movie marathons — which usually require one ticket, a strong bladder, and many hours of patience — tickets for the MCU fest are purchased by showtime. This makes it very easy for you to stay for the films you love and bail on the ones you don’t. Most fans will probably pick a few of their favorites to see on the big screen again, but for those of you like Cap thinking ”I can do this all day” — good luck, and remember to hit the restroom beforehand.
