4. Old Hal Jordan means no origin story

Deadpool may have murdered Ryan Reynolds before the 2011 Green Lantern movie happened, but we still remember. Since the movie was so horribly done, do we really need another Hal Jordan origin story? Some of you might say yes because he deserves so much better and he does. Still, the DCEU doesn’t appear to have much interest in origin stories for some of their more popular DC Comics characters. As a matter of fact, DCEU President, Walter Hamada’s rumored DCEU slate has very few potential origin stories listed.

Supergirl is a prime candidate along with Nightwing who technically could get his origin told in The Batman. Christina Hudson is writing Batgirl who could get her origin story told apart from Batman. Or she’ll likely be an established hero who could see the birth of Oracle which technically isn’t an origin.

Nevertheless, Hal Jordan is on the branch of heroes that isn’t likely to get an origin story from Walter Hamada’s DCEU. Black Canary, Huntress, Flash, and Batman didn’t get origin stories either. Plus, with the studio wanting older actors it doesn’t appear they care about a Hal Jordan origin — nor should they. Hal Jordan being old is a sign that the DCEU will focus on John Stewart.
