2. Doctor Strange 2

Marvel took a hero, Doctor Strange, who wasn’t as widely known to mainstream fans and made him popular.  The introduction of sorcery and otherworldly magic opened up Pandora’s box for the MCU. The cast of Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Benedict Wong made the first film memorable and we imagine them all returning for a sequel. We know that there’s a script being written by C. Robert Cargill. In fact, we also have a villain.

According to Doctor Strange 2 director Scott Derrickson, there’s a chance the next film will introduce Nightmare as the main antagonist.

"“I really like the character of Nightmare and the concept that the Nightmare Realm is a dimension… we do introduce and introduce the idea of nightmares themselves as being a dimension… I think that’s a super cool concept.”"

With so many moving parts and the warranted critical success, Disney can move forward and put a rush on production. There’s no reason to believe that Doctor Strange 2 can’t replace Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.  3. It requires a lot of CGI but the budget for the is undoubtedly less than Guardians 3. As a matter of fact, Doctor Strange’s $165M budget was nothing compared to Guardians 2 which was $200M. So, we wouldn’t be shocked if Doctor Strange was pushed up, in fact, we welcome it.
