Fans of Marvel Comics were introduced to the live-action depiction of Natasha Romanoff in 2010’s Iron Man 2. Scarlet Johansson’s portrayal as the former Russian spy also known as Black Widow garnered major fanfare. Fans have patiently waited for Disney/Marvel to give Black Widow a well deserved solo movie. After waiting for nearly a decade, Disney finally gave fans great news.

The first was the hiring of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels writer Jac Schaeffer to pen the script for the Black Widow movie. Black Widow’s background focuses on the hero away from the Avengers in a more grounded story. Unlike a number of other heroes on the list, she doesn’t require a ton of CGI.

Disney can use a smaller budget for Black Widow with realistic fight scenes that’ll separate itself from other MCU films. It’ll be a low risk, high reward and it’ll give fans and the MCU and overall uniqueness — similar to Black Panther
